Behold (2002 - The River's Voice)

Behold is what you say when you are so sputtering awestruck you can barely speak. Like when you’ve been kissed really well, or have witnessed the arrival of excellent pasta. It’s a word that’s just not used often enough. So we named this Christmas/Solstice collection that.

As important as Christmas is to us -- the celebration of Light coming into the world -- it has become equally important to us to recognize the darkest time of the year at Winter Solstice. So Behold contains themes of darkness as well as lightness. We invite you to find a way to value darkness, to welcome all seasons of your life with their gifts. Something our fix-it-quick culture doesn’t do so well. These 15 songs celebrate twinkling stars and babies in barns along with dark desert nights and the bleak midwinter.
